The service listens to the recording and detects which notes play at each moment, where they start and end, and smooth pitch changes (pitch bend). The recognition engine is compact - about 1 MB - so it loads fast and runs right in your browser.
Settings apply instantly - no need to analyse the track again.
Notes in the MIDI file are placed in real time, and the tempo decides how they line up with the bar grid in your DAW (Ableton Live, FL Studio, Logic Pro, Cubase, Pro Tools, Studio One, Reaper, Bitwig). Enter the tempo of the track and the notes will match your project’s bars. You can find the tempo with the BPM & key finder.
Pitch bend is a smooth change of a note’s pitch: vibrato, guitar bends, vocal slides. Turn it on for vocals and solo lines if you want to keep them expressive. For chords and keys it is better off: in MIDI, pitch bend affects the whole channel at once and can shift neighbouring notes.
Transcription is almost never perfect: expect some extra short notes, missed quiet notes and octave errors caused by overtones. The MIDI usually needs a little manual editing in your DAW, but it saves most of the work - especially for melodies and chord parts.
